Ariane’s Lalaloopsy Themed First Birthday Party

Party Tagline: sew-ONE-derful… sew-cute!

Five years ago, Lexi (my niece), had her Hello Kitty themed first birthday party with balloons, cupcakes, games, hello kitty giveaways and a five-tier fondant cake.

This March, her baby sister, Ariane, celebrated her first birthday. In January, I posted this photo of Ariane with some of their Lalaloopsy collection on instagram. A couple of other dolls were still on the way then. The dolls are all still in their packaging except for Coral Sea Shells (they have another one unboxed). And so what better theme to use than a Lalaloopsy party!

The party was actually hastily planned. They asked a local craft shop, PaperRockScissors, to do the lalaloopsy invitations, gift boxes and I don’t know what else. Lexi helped to make the button decors (I think the nannies helped, too), sis and bro-in-law did the balloon and venue decorations and Ariane’s own five-tier fondant cake and cupcakes were made again by Cake Temptations. Guess what they had for the cake topper? It’s Cheska (Lexi’s coral sea shells lalaloopsy doll)! Who provided entertainment? Not sure, though, but may be the same group who provided entertainment during Lexi’s first birthday.

Here are some of the pics from the party.

Too bad I wasn’t around to take my own shots coz I was overseas at the time…

Week 19: In the chapel

I’ve taken a number of pics this week with my Nikon but this one from my iphone will be my pic this week.

Lesson in the chapel

Lesson in the chapel

Dropped by the chapel at the cathedral earlier and then I saw this tiny old lady (the one kneeling) walk very slowly and with difficulty towards one of the benches in front of me to pray. As I sat there contemplating a young lady came and talked to her seemingly asking her about something. She seemed to be talking very kindly to the old lady I thought it was her granddaughter. After a while the young lady walked away and then I noticed the old lady was saying thanks holding on to something. It looked like the young lady gave her some money to buy food. Was speechless and humbled after that. So there are still kind people in this world even if you didn’t ask or expect it. God bless to that old lady and the young one.
